Happy Memorial Day Washington Monument
World War II Memorial
Lincoln Memorial
My guys
My cuties
We went for a walk last night around the monuments in honor of Memorial Day. We were able to see the monuments all lit up and be there to feel the amazing spirit that is felt here in Washington for those who fought for our freedoms. It was a beautiful night and Alexa enjoyed learning about how many, many soldiers work so hard to make our country free.
We also spent the day today just hanging out as a family. We had a ward pancake breakfast this morning and did some cleaning and some shopping and attended a friends' barbeque.
Thank you to all who fight for our freedom everyday so that we can have enjoyable days together as a family.

My Daughter The Graduate

Let's go graduate!!!!!!

Hi dad, thanks for coming to my graduation

Here we go

Alexa was the first graduate in her class
The proud mom

the cute little brother

We have had quite the week. First Jeff graduating from law school and now Alexa graduating from preschool.

I can't believe that Alexa is actually finished with preschool. She is now a school-aged kid. This has been a crazy week from me. We have passed quite a few milestones and I have been a mess. I was already crying on Wednesday night. At the graduation tears were flowing as my little girl was announced as a graduate. I know that she will have a ton more milestones, arguably more important ones, but for this mom it was such a special day. The kids sang such cute songs. Alexa's class sang Kum-Ba-Yay and she sang her heart out.

As Alexa walked down the aisle they had pomp and circumstance playing. It was so cute!! She is so excited for Kindergarten. I hope my heart can take the first time I put her on the school bus! Congratulations Alexa, my little graduate.

My Husband the Graduate

For those of you who don't know, my husband (the greatest man ever) graduated from law school on Sunday. This is my blog so I have taken the liberty of bragging about Jeff and all of his wonderful accomplishments.
I will start from the beginning. Jeff decided to go to law school about four years ago. He decided he would go to school at night so that he could work and I could stay home with Alexa. Dallin was not quite in the cards yet then. He worked it out so that he could be transferred with Ernst &Young to the McLean, Virginia office and he worked out a part time schedule with full benefits. He worked so hard that he was promoted to Manager a year earlier than he was supposed to be. While he was working so hard he was also studying hard. He began pulling in some very impressive grades and he quickly realized that he loved the law. The years went by and he got even better grades and more praise from his coworkers. Jeff began teaching as a Dean's Fellow and he made The Law Review. After he made it he then became a senior editor at the Law Review. He then got a very impressive summer internship at Williams & Conolly LLP. He ended his stint at Ernst & Young, they were very sad to see him go. He finished out his law school career as a super star. We found out that he not only was graduating from one of the top 20 law schools in the country but that he was graduating with Highest Honors in the top 2% of his class. As Jeff walked across the stage on Sunday he had Alexa and Dallin in his arms. The crowd erupted in applause and cheers. He had finished such an amazing accomplishment while being an outstanding father and husband. Tears began to flow as I heard how much praise he was receiving and as I remembered the journey we had taken. I know we have so much to look forward to and I am so proud of my amazing husband. Congrats babe. I love you more than anything and I can't wait for the rest of our journey together.

Goodbye RoryOkay, I feel like a teenager. I have never been one to follow too much in the way of television, other than Lost of course, but for some reason I have been drawn to the Gilmore Girls. I rarely have been able to watch the show other than reruns, but I have always loved the witty banter and the fun town of Stars Hollow.
I have secretly always wanted to be like Rory and be able to speak so quickly and eloquently. I guess I secretly want to be like Lorelai as well. The fact that they are so beautiful also is another reason I would like to be them. I found myself during tonights Series Finale actually shedding a few tears. I guess I don't like to see things end. I was thinking about the fact that I will be moving across the country this summer and it made me feel that ache that comes along with saying goodbye, just as Rory had to do.
Good luck Rory even though you are going to be on a Democrats campaign. Thanks for letting me feel like a teenager tonight.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!!!!
Mom, I hope you have a Happy Mother's Day! I am so grateful for all that you do for me and my children. As you can see from these pictures Alexa and Dallin love to be with you and so do I . I hope you are having a great day. I love you

I hope the rest of the mothers out there are having a great day as well. I have been the recipient of many cards and hugs and kisses. I told Jeff that I wanted new clothes for the gym so we went shopping as a family last night. I got lots of new things to wear. I have found a new passion at the gym, spinning! If you haven't tried it you should. It is an amazing workout. It makes me want to train for a triathalon. I have semi relaxed today. I am just not a relaxer. Jeff got me to lie in bed for a few extra minutes today but I insisted on ironing and getting Dallin breakfast. Can you say control freak? I am. I did sit and read a new book though and it was quite enjoyable. I guess I see my life as one that I would not trade for anything else, so to do the things I love is relaxing to me.

Motherhood is so amazing and I wish the world saw it this way. One reason I like being a mother. 1. the things they say. Alexa told Jeff to stop saying the word budget because she didn't like it. (She must be my daughter) I hate budgets. I always end up in tears. 2. The cute things they do. Dallin loves to give kisses. He puckers up and plants one on me and more times than not he gives more than one. I love it. 3. Their love for everyone. Alexa always wants to be a friend. She will make friends with anyone.

Alexa's new best friend that we met in line while we were waiting to see the princesses.4. The genuine love that they have for no one else. Jeff brought Dallin into our room this morning and he was grinning from ear to ear when he saw me. He gave me a huge hug and of course many kisses. 5. The excitement when we learn something new. Alexa asked me why there was wind and she is constantly asking me what words mean. Some of her questions are hard to answer but it is fun seeing her learn. There are many more things that I like about beinig a mother but I think the best part is knowing that I am doing my best to raise happy, healthy children in the gospel who will know their father in Heaven and who will treat others with kindness. I love this role that I have called to fill. I treasure the time I have to be by their side. I love you Dallin and Alexa. Thanks for letting me be your mom.

Orlando Was Amazing

Okay, I am finally writing about our vacation to Orlando. We have been back for four days and we have just been adjusting to real life and getting laundry done and fun things like that. We had so much fun in Orlando. It was the perfect vacation for our little family. Let me start with our amazing hotel The Marriott Grande Vista I forgot my camera most of the time we were just hanging out but check it out. It was amazing. We hung out at the different pools and Jeff was able to golf. I went to the fitness center every morning, my idea of a perfect vacation! We played hard so it was nice to have a great place to stay when we needed some rest.

We went to Epcot the first day, Magic Kingdom on Tuesday took Wednesday off and played at the pools, Went to Epcot and MGM on Thursday and went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom again on Friday. We did everything. Dallin took naps in the stroller and we really did it all! We saw so many shows and took rides and Alexa even got to enjoy breakfast with the princesses at Epcot.
We had such a blast watching our children soak it all in. Alexa at one point told me Mom, this is so amazing! (As we were watching the fireworks at Epcot) She also told me that I was the best mom ever. All worth it for this mom.
As we had to leave on Saturday Alexa is very sad. She cried huge crocodile tears and told me that she wanted to stay at Disney World. I told her that it would be more special if we went back in a few years. I continue to be amazed with the wonderful job Disney does. We learned that they employ 57,000 people there and it shows. Everyone is so happy and everyone, even the security guards smiled and told us to have a magical day. Everyone even referred to Alexa as princess wherever we went. It was expensive but I know we will pay to go on this vacation again. I will post more pictures in a second post. Does anyone know how to post pictures without putting them at the top of your post?
